Jason studied at the University of Northern Iowa, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in General Business. His degree included many accounting courses, while also giving insight to the big picture of everything that encompassed a business. Jason found that numbers and solving complex problems really spoke to him, so throughout his career he has held various positions that focused on finance/accounting and operations. As the Controller and CFO of several businesses, Jason’s favorite part has been developing great working relationships. After being a contracted fractional CFO and Controller before coming to Fortiviti, Jason enjoys the team environment that Fortiviti provides, while also getting to work with a multitude of different industries and different sized companies.

Volunteering is a big passion of Jason’s, and he tries to do it as much as his schedule allows. Back in his hometown in Iowa, he was instrumental in helping set up the Veteran’s Memorial, as Veterans are a huge part of the community. In KC, he likes helping at organizations such as churches, Habitat for Humanity, Cross Lines, and local food pantries.

Jason met his wife, Jonna, while they were both working at the same company; together they have a daughter and younger son. With Jonna’s entrepreneurial spirit and Jason’s business acumen, Jonna started her own company called Prism Contract Partners. During weekends, he indulges in his passion for playing the guitar and occasionally performs with a group of friends who have been making music together for 15 years. Despite his allegiance to the Steelers, his favorite football team, Jason has developed an affinity for the Chiefs and Royals since relocating to Kansas City over 20 years ago! He has attended five Chiefs vs. Steelers games throughout the years.
